Flannel and Terry Cloth Burp Cloths

{photo from Small Notebook}

Love these burp cloths from Small Notebook. Rachel kindly offered the directions to me:
  1. Sew rectangles of flannel and terry cloth together with the right sides of the fabric facing each other (this slides through the machine much easier if the smooth flannel is on the top side and the towel is underneath).
  2. Leave a space a few inches wide for turning it right side out.
  3. Clip the corners before your turn the fabric so the corners won't be bulky.
  4. After you turn it right side out, topstitch around the edges of the fabric to close the space and finish the seams.
So simple I think I could even make these, but so darling. Don't you think these would be great to have on hand for gifts?

Where do you find the terry cloth? I'm wanting to start making these. If I embroider it do I do the top part prior to sewing it to the terry cloth?

Hi Tammi...I haven't actually made these yet. The instructions are from Rachel from Small Notebook. I'm thinking you could buy the terry cloth at a fabric store. I'm not sure about the embroidery but it would probably be easier to do it first. Good luck with your project!
